COMMUNITY GROUND RULES: Violations of these ground rules will result in one warning, then a ban if not rectified within 24 hrs.
OUR MOST IMPORTANT RULE:Please be sensitive to the fact that this community is home to many women who have suffered one or more pregnancy losses and/or have various fertility issues. Conceiving may be easy and a natural occurrence for some, but for many women it's not a happy, stress-free and/or worry-free journey at all.
Please be polite to everyone here. You might not agree with what they say, but this is not the place to be hateful. This is a community of supporting one another in an emotional time. If you are rude/negative/etc, you will be warned and/or banned.
Be aware that there are certain topics that are a bit touchy for some members. Topics include, but are not limited to, positive HPTs (announcements/photos), birth announcements/baby stats, miscarriage, lesbian/gay issues, previous children, unmarried and/or young teen pregnancy, cultural/religious/atheist viewpoints, abortion, adoption, breastfeeding, etc... Use your best judgment/discretion and, if posting about topics of this nature, use an lj-cut and label it "Sensitive". (How to do an LJ Cut)
Please don't promote any other community without specific permission ahead of time from a mod . If you want to request permission for a new community to be added to this list, contact Jenn by clicking here: COMMUNITY APPROVAL REQUEST POST(Do not use this post to request membership into making_babies - send an intro email to Jenn for that.)
Please refrain from posting about your pregnancy beyond your initial pregnancy announcement, unless commenting in someone else's post, if it applies to the conversation. Likewise, if you're a parent already, please no separate posts seeking parental advice, about your parenting method and/or any other parenting issues.
If you are a woman who has been struggling with specific fertility issues and/or has been TTC for an extended period of time, you may want to check out fertilityissues as well as our community.
Finally, if your information is not correct, please leave a comment here to update it!
Moderator Contact Info:kalki (Jenn) can be reached by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.

The American Assoc. for Marriage and Family Therapy has a therapist locator. You can enter your zip code and find licensed therapists with X number of miles from you. Many have a brief description of their practice, what insurance they take (if any), education background, etc. If you or your spouse are having sex-specific issues, the American Assoc. of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists also has a locator tool as well.
Stirrup Queen is a blog and she has compiled a gigantic list of infertility-related blogs from adoption (international and domestic), to IVF, to egg donors, to general support, to male factor, to parenting after IF, and more.
